Brawn CEO Nick Fry believes that Rubens Barrichello deserves to win grands prix this year despite only beating team-mate Jenson Button once in the first eight races of the season.
The 37-year-old Brazilian lies second in the championship and finished second to Button in Australia, Spain and Monaco, and Fry has said that his hard work and dedication should be rewarded with a win.
"We've been delighted with Rubens's performance all through this year," Fry told AUTOSPORT. "It would be lovely if we could get him on the top step of the podium.
"He is trying unbelievably hard. For someone who has been in grand prix racing for so long, his level of motivation is incredible. He is doing himself proud."
Fry is also confident that Button will return to podium contention after finishing sixth in the British Grand Prix two weeks ago, blaming his pace on the difficulty he had in generating tyre temperature.
"When we get back to the more slow to medium speed circuits and hotter temperatures, normal service will be resumed," said Fry.
"Jenson's position at Silverstone is explained by his smooth driving style. The car was having difficulty generating tyre temperature, and because Jenson is even smoother than Rubens is, he suffered even more."
